Narcissists are emotional Decepticons. They use a variety of tactics, such as invalidation, projection, smear campaigns, & triangulation to disarm their victims. Even before you are aware, the narcissist is spreading lies & misinformation about you & others. Long before you realized what & who they were, they were already laying seeds of doubt about you & your character to anyone that listens or entertains their antics.
When the mask slips & you see exactly what they are, they’ll label you “crazy”, “bipolar” – everything they actually are… Unmasking a narc can be an excruciating and isolating time for victims of narcissistic abuse. If you have been here before, you understand all too well how a narcissist reacts once their mask slips and they fear exposure by others. If you are dealing with a narcissist the smear campaign & pathological lies about you are alone. It is hard to catch wind of the lies but don’t fall for the trap of the smear campaign. The truth comes out in the end.
Remember, the scapegoat is the “crazy” one that breaks away from the narcissistic system!
