Narc Free Living’s 2022 Open Letter for 2023!
Regardless of if you pushed through 2022 or made it by the skin of your teeth, YOU made it! My words for 2022 were elevation, intentionality & discipline, & discipleship. 2022 was a year of tremendous growth and advancing the Kingdom of Heaven. My personal phrase this new season is Soft Girl Shannon. You have been introduced to Strong Warrior Shannon. I’m flowing differently in 2023. Don’t wake the warrior. We are always on watch!
Biblically, we celebrated our new year In September. If you know you know! Following YAH always puts you ahead of the world.
For those who are ready to shift & align this is a season of:
- Restoration.
- Retribution.
- Restructuring.
- Righteousness.
- Obedience.
- Breakthrough.
- Breakout.
- Transformation.
- Transparency.
- Changing of the guard.
- The wealth of the wicked transferred to the righteous.
What were your words for 2022? How did you do?
Personally, I overcame a number of challenges & fell back on some. I’ll be revisiting the areas I missed the mark on as I navigate this upcoming season. Fall down? We get up! My words for 2022 were discipline, intentionality, and elevation. I am building on those for 2023!
Here are a few Lessons Learned from 2022:
- Make time for YAH & YOU. I am learning that I cannot pour from an empty cup. Sometimes you have to be selfish regarding yourself and your time. It’s not selfish. It’s self-care. I am resigning as the strong friend! We must prioritize rest, and recuperate so that we can be restored & replenished.
- Remember we are all overcoming trauma and abuse. Give yourself grace.
- Progress is better than perfection. It’s not always pretty. If you wait on perfect, you’ll always be waiting.
- This is my soft girl season. We discussed biblical femininity in CBU fall & summer sessions. It’s crazy how the world has finally caught on! A Proverbs 31 woman, Deborahs, Esthers, – are YAH’s design for women.
- Setting boundaries is awesome. Enforcing them is even better! This is a process as we unlearn old techniques to relearn new ones. Let me be transparent…YAH got me together in this area. This is a season of NO for me. A season of LESS IS MORE. I have examined & adjusted my personal & business boundaries to make sure I am in alignment & prepared to shift!

Chain Breaker News! Catching Up With Stephanie J!
We caught up with Chain Breaker Stephanie this week! Stephanie is leveling up in life and in the Kingdom!
Here’s a little about this Chain Breaker who is totally committed to breaking the chains of abuse!
“I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University in December 2006. In June 2009, I obtained my Master’s Degree from the University of Phoenix Online. Since 2006, I have worked a plethora of positions in the Mental Health career field. My line of work is definitely where I discovered my passion for working with mental health client care.
God blessed me with the gifts of hospitality and compassion. It takes a very special person to work in this population in this field. It is NOT for everyone. My passion for wanting to help people improve their quality of life motivates me to continue working in this area of expertise. Currently, I work as a Care Manager for an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). In this role, I connect clients to counselors. I also provide in-the-moment counseling and resources to clients dealing with mental health concerns, domestic violence, and major life changes.
My goal is to one day become a life coach and or use my purpose to witness to women that are dealing with and have previously dealt with toxic relationships. I continue to seek God & His guidance to use my experiences as a testimony to others. I want to show other women there is hope and that it’s never too late to figure out your value and worth.
Taking classes through CBU was a life-changing experience for me.I have learned how to battle spiritual warfare and break generational curses. This program has also taken me through deliverance and I am thankful for Shannon’s prayers and covering over my life. This community has taught me how to identify healthy relationships vs. toxic relationships. My entire 8-weeks helped me renew my mind and rededicate my life back to God completely.
The classes also showed me my top 5 spiritual gifts including Mercy, Pastor/Shepard, Exhortation, Help, and Service. I would recommend this class to anyone as Shannon is a blessing from God. I am so thankful she allowed God to use her and share her testimony. God led me to Shannon’s Youtube channel the week of my breakup from my Narcissistic Abusive relationship. I am so thankful God led me to her!”

We caught up with Chain Breaker, Monica Adams! Monica is a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who serves clients of all populations in many diverse settings for over ten years. Monica is currently employed by the federal government as a Military Family Life Counselor MFLC, she also works for a company called Telemynd and sees client’s via telehealth.
She received her Master’s in Human Service from the University of Springfield College, Tampa Florida. Monica has experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Person-centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Grief Therapy, Kohut’s Love Object Theory Therapy, Token Economy Behavior Modification strategies, Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care. She believes in building a trusting relationship that leads to the empowerment and growth of the client.
She knew from the age of twelve she had a unique disposition, a fiery passion to help others overcome adversity and reach their highest potentials in life. In her free time Monica enjoys playing basketball, and studying God’s word through the Bible Institute at her church!
How has Chain Breaker University helped Monica thrive?
CBU has been a jewel in my heart! It’s an experience that I can continually go back to and glean more and more treasures of healing and deliverance. I feel like it was such a privilege to participate in a healthy community of women where we could support one another and be vulnerable which is so desperately needed in these moments of healing and isolation. In my experience and profession I have always been the one helping and pouring into others, but this time there was someone to help me. I don’t say that lightly, I’ll be forever grateful! I have experienced deliverance in my life on multiple levels since coming in contact with this ministry.
CBU provided me with spiritual education that enabled a deeper understanding of how to break cycles and soul ties by setting boundaries and working to create a deeper intimacy with the Holy Spirit. CBU has also had an influential impact in my passion to start my own Christian private counseling practice, to provide more opportunities for survivors coming out of narcissistic abuse. One million dollars wouldn’t express the value of what took place in this anointed space. Thank you Shannon for your heart of sacrifice and obedience to God. May you be blessed continually.
